YET another request. Fleetwood Mac, another group of artists more critically acclaimed for their work in the 70's - even the 60's. Of course, any fan of rock music who does not own the album 'Rumours' is insane and most certainly not a legitimate fan of rock music. Track for track a complete work of rock genius and lyrical magic. Their music became less genius and less rock into the 80's. Their lyrics became more adult contemporary and the music more bubble gum and less interesting. Less relevant. Nonetheless, classic rock. They peaked again in the 90's with 'The Dance', putting together a set of their classics live, and making it sound as genius as they did in the 70's. IRONICALLY, one of my favorite FMac albums is the 80's 'Tango In The Night'. If you scroll through my archive, you'll find "Seven Wonders" and "Little Lies" which are tracks from that album. For newbies to FMac, you'll find the original "Say You Love Me" track is from their 1975 self titled effort, which also has one of my favorites, "Rhiannon". I chose this song from several of the requests I have gotten (including that one) for FMac because it is very different - definitely not the typical club 'mixable' track. I have also done a ton of anthems lately and wanted to do a track that some of my listeners might not have heard before. Regular listeners, in the future you can expect more FMac...feel free to continue e-mailing your suggestions. luv, peace and music...into eternity!! dj Tim a Heaven Is A Place on Earth (Dj Tim A Damaged Mix)

Sting and The Police are just as classic 80's as Rubix Cube. As I said before, in some of my earliest postings over two years ago, I do not try to mess with ultra classic anthems. But I had one of those rare nostalgic moments when I was spinning at a party this month - a party I do every year - and they love oldies. Someone requested this song and it's been stuck in my head ever since. The original is balladish - but with somewhat of a decent tempo. IT TOOK A TON - I MEAN HOURS AND HOURS of very detailed editting. Hopefully I didn't trample the original. Hopefully it just catches you, and you can enjoy it reinterpreted for the dance floor. love, peace and music, always... dj Tim a CHINA GIRL! (Dj Tim A Club Mix)
August 23, 2008 05:40 PM PDT
David Bowie was one of the most pivotal artists of the seventies, being among the first to add in your face sex and drugs to the rock and roll. While his work in that era was perhaps his most artistically relevant and critically acclaimed, its his foray into the disco pop bubble of the eighties that I update here. If you have a chance, I recommend you YOUTUBE the "China Girl" video. CLASSIC!

Here is a rare mid-week treat for you. And 'Lou Gramm' may seem a bit random compared to the artists I usually choose, but there is a story...the past three times I have stopped in to Walgreens they were playing this song! It seemed like some kind of message, you know, three times a charm. Hopefully next time its not the Monkees or Meatloaf, right? Check out my MySpace blog, www.myspace.com/dj_tim_a. I have posted reviews of new albums by Donna Summer, Cyndi Lauper, Coldplay and Duffy. LOVE, PEACE, and MUSIC - always... ...dj Tim a 80's Reinvented Volume 4

This is one of those love songs from the 70's and 80's mammoth "Chicago" that gets in your head and sticks there like peanut butter!! (of course with my own little twist) This mix was originally published with the "80's Reinvented Volume 3", as an unrealesed track. But I recently received a request for it to be released on its own by one of the listeners, so here it is!

I am already listening closely to the net and airwaves for the hotties and the notties so that I can get something fun and fresh posted for PRIDE '08. Since the beginning of the year, I have been posting the usual sets of my own favorites and (of course) some of the hottest dance music in 2008. You can find these scrolling through the podcasts, or you can subscribe on I-Tunes. Otherwise, click the links below. Each of these mixes will also fit - conveniently - on an 80 minute cd: SPRING Mix 2008:
MY-Pod Mix Vol. 1:
SUMMER Mix 2008:
MY-Pod Mix Vol. 2:
Two of the most consistent downloads has been my FALL Mix 2007, and 80's Reivented Vol. 3. (I beleive that has been partly because Bobby Love has made sure everyone at Bally's and everywhere he has vacationed since I posted it knows just how perfect and flawless they are - of course that's the reason!) FALL Mix 2007
80's Reinvented Vol. 3:
If you would like tracklists, just scroll through. ALSO, NEVER FORGET to support the artists by purchasing their original material. Most of the original music from my sets can be found on I-Tunes, but you can also find CD's and awesome dance and club remix compilations at http://www.borderlinemusic.com. Finally, I have a couple other plugs. YOU MUST BUY: MADONNA - Hard Candy
These are all available at Borderline Music as well. That's all for now! love, peace, music AND dancing, ALWAYS! ...dj Tim a
